Introducing myself

I studied Law and History at the University of São Paulo (USP), São Paulo, Brazil, where I’ve got my Master degree, in Jurisprudence, having written a thesis, recently published in Brazil, on the theme of difference and de-construction in law theory (“Law reconstruction: existence, liberty, diversity” - "A Reconstrução do Direito: existência, liberdade, diversidade". Porto Alegre: Fabris Editor, 2003)), trying to set an interdisciplinary overview, and to reach the intersections of history, anthropology, literature and law. I’ve finished my Doctoral studies at the same University, receiving the PhD title in the year of 2000. My dissertation subject was the relationship between the style and the political project of Montesquieu, which I defined by following the readings and the influence of the seventeenth century philosophers (mainly the French moralistes) on the making of both style and conception of the civil society by the Magistrate from Bordeaux (“Montesquieu: passions and moralist style” - "Montesquieu: tópica das paixões e estilo moraliste", which will be published here). In the same year I’ve studied in the University of Coimbra, Portugal, making a research on Constitutional Law and following some doctoral seminars. I’ve been also Judge at the State Court of São Paulo since 1989. I taught Jurisprudence and Law History at some Universities here in Brazil (Universidade de São Paulo USP, Universidade Estadual Paulista UNESP, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo PUC). I continue developing the studies of Politics and Law on their relation to Philosophy, History, Art and Literature. I intend to follow post-doctoral studies and I’d like to have the opportunity to exchange knowledge in important international universities and research centers, as a Visiting Scholar or Visiting Researcher, mainly in Germany, USA, England, France and Italy.
